#01 Sun and Moon
Chinese calligraphy: “Sun” and “Moon” in Seal Script style. Seal Script is an ancient form of Chinese writing. These characters are often pictograms, sketches of the object they represent.
Sumi ink on Shikishi board. The upper right seal is: “walking in the sky”, bottom left is a bird image. The size is 10.75” by 9.5”.

#02 Cloud-Water
In Chinese the term Cloud-water symbolically means a wanderer (monk/nun). To him, or her, because no place is home, every place is home - just like clouds float and water flows everywhere.
Here is a study of cloud and water - playing with brush strokes.

Orchid. Simple strokes. Sumi ink on acid-free card board paper. Size is 7” by 7.5”. The seal is my name “Chin”.

#06 Lha
神,Pronounced as [shen]; in Tibetan is “lha” (Dorje Dradul, Trungpa Rinpoche, sometimes described it as “the drala of lha, nyen, lu.” ) It is a Chinese character which has several meanings:
1. a deity
2. preternatural; magical
3. mind; spirit, 心神
4. (a person’s) energy, 神氣
5. (an) expression, 神情
In the Shambhala language, Trungpa Rinpoche talked about three principles called in Tibetan lha, nyen, and lu. Lha, refers to the divine, or to “the highest points on earth.” He also said: “The discovery of natural hierarchy has to be a personal experience - magic is something you must experience for yourself.”

The moon shines in a deep night. Everything has a contour, but we cannot really see what it is. All things are possible.

Chinese calligraphy: Gentleness 柔 [rou] - Like the spring gentle rain, morning gentle breeze, young lovers first kiss. Gentle, but cannot be forgotten; gentle but strong; gentle but lasts forever.

A dot in the space. Before everything begins. Before our thoughts get complicated and tangled. Before we start getting emotional, worried, offensive or defensive, like or dislike… A dot is a dot; a dot only. All other line and shape and form come after that.
